At Buckley Street Compounding Pharmacy, every decision we make comes back to one thing: our patients. Opening our in-house compounding lab was no different. It was a response to what we were seeing, day after day, behind the dispensary counter.
Over time, we noticed a pattern. Patients coming in who needed a dose slightly different to what was commercially available. Others who couldn’t tolerate a particular formulation and needed an alternative. And some who were simply going without their medication because it was out of stock or had been discontinued.
One area where this became particularly clear was hormone health. We see many women who require very specific hormone doses, doses that simply aren’t available in a standard commercial product. On top of this, ongoing supply issues with hormone patches have left many patients without a reliable treatment option. Compounding allows us to step in and ensure continuity of care, working directly with each patient’s doctor to prepare exactly what has been prescribed.
So we made a decision. We invested in a compounding lab right here in our pharmacy, so that we could create medications tailored specifically to each patient’s needs. Because at Buckley Street, we believe that the right medication should always be available to the person who needs it.
